Invaluable Help
"I’ve brought Kara into to help us in two very different organizations and markets. Both times Kara gave us invaluable help with our marketing and pricing strategies, resulting in increased demand, and subscription and single ticket increases. Additionally, her work with us resulted in significant learning and professional development for the team.
"Kara works in a straightforward and open way that brings the team into her processes, insights and distinctions, and guides staff to develop new capacities to move the organization forward beyond the contract. She is very knowledgeable, well-experienced and genuinely incisive. She is unfailingly reliable, communicative, flexible, and appreciated by all our colleagues. I will continue to engage her in future. Highest recommendation."

Who's Your Next Best Prospect?
A few years ago, a New England performing arts center asked for help in determining what capacity there might be in their database & their community for significantly increased philanthropic support. We focused on individual donors, using focus groups and surveys to discover the values, motivations, and habits of their existing stakeholders. We then surveyed everyone with a transaction history for the past several years. and matched the answers with those patrons' transaction history.
By mining for similarities between existing donors and patrons, not just on transaction history but also values and motivations revealed in the survey, we were able to return a robust list of likely "next best" donor prospects. Result? An increase in donated revenue of 66% over two years.

What Happens When The Database Gets Deleted?
Transitions? Some are more challenging than others. In the case of CityArts for Youth, a community based arts organization found itself with no donor records, few contacts, and a need for new sources of funding in the short term. For many small nonprofits, this would be a career-ending crisis.
Over the course of four months, Cathy set up new database systems, researched donor history, reestablished contacts with many long-time supporters through a combination of in-person events, personal contacts and direct mail, and most importantly left staff with the tools to continue to grow and stabilize a powered-up fundraising and stakeholder engagement practice.
We understand the connection between data and sustainability; the systems a nonprofit builds for its stakeholder engagement are as important as the ones that serve it's mission more directly.
